6.- Biography: Sara Baras

Hi! As you know, my name is Anna and today I will talk about Sara Baras!

Sara Pereira Baras is an Spanish dancer. She was born in 1971 in Cádiz. When she was young, she moved to San Fernando, where her mother, Concha Baras started a flamenco school of ballet.

She started to dance flamenco when she was eight in her mother's school, later when she only was 10, she played in “Los Niños de la Tartulia Flamenca” which toured all the festivals of Andalucía. At age of eleven, in 1990 she became a part of Manuel Morao's company which mades her more famous. In 1994 she did lots of performances around Europe with the famous singer Enrique Morente. When she finished her studies she made her own company called Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras, formed by 7 musicians and 7 dancers (including herself).

Mujeres and Gitano where the plays which made her more famous and popular. She has won lots of prices like Madroño Flamenco (1993) and Premi Nacional de Dansa (2003).
